. The parameters for netstat are preceded with a hyphen, not a forward slash like many other commands. The -a tells it to show us all active connections and the ports on which the computer is listening. The -n tells netstat to show the IP addresses and ports as numbers only.

Actually there is a better way to see what ports you have open. The issue with netstat or lsof is that they query network stack and actually do not connect to the machine but instead trying to see what is running on the system. The better approach is to use nmap like so: nmap -sT -O localhost To see open ports.

Command: Apparently there are ports open because services such as NetBIOS NS, Remote Desktop, and Hyper-V remote administration are functioning. I tried a few 'netsh advfirewall' show commands, but didn't get a way to find out which ports are permit by Windows Firewall.
