To make matters worse, the typical migration path for IPv4 to IPv6 is to use gateways to proxy your IPv6 traffic to someone who speaks only IPv4, but those addresses, if they even allowed SMTP traffic, would be pretty much guaranteed to have a poor reputation. What worked, was entering the IP address of the SMTP server manually (which, of course, defeats the purpose of having domain names in the first place). Of course, the SMTP port has to be enabled in the firewall. I tried upgrading to the latest version (2016-07-29), which did nothing to resolve the problem.
