Anyone know what causes win7 to not show the IP settings when setting a static IP address.. all that is showing is the static gateway. In Status/Details the IP address shows (as well as a auto configuration 169.x.x.x address).. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edit: Event log reports that there is a duplicate IP address.

If you server is behind a firewall (NATed) there is not an external ip address on the server. If you server is connected directly to the internet, try wiht ipconfig /all.
